During my first half marathon, my hip bursitis decided to rear its head making running excruciating from mile 8 on. I tried to run but ended up just walking by mile 10 feeling VERY defeated and sad. All of a sudden another runner came up and started talking to me about my tattoos. We walked side by side talking until I felt like running a little. Together we talked, walked, and ran from 11.5 until mile 13 where we split off as she was running the full. Thanks to her kindness I was able to keep going and finish running, something I didn't think I would be able to do. I never got her name so later I looked through the race photos until I found her, looked up her info, and found her on facebook to thank her for all her help :) I think of her as my race angel!

    Awesome experience! People are usually so focused on their own results and she actually set her self to the side for you. So cool. I think if you ever have the chance you should try to do that for someone else. I'm still needing that wax. I will try and call today!
