  1. RUN

First run after being rear-ended at the end of June and injuring my back. Still don't have a full doctor's okay (since I cancelled an appointment before going out of town) but the back is substanti... read more

  2. RUN
    Prairie Path 9 mi 02:16 15:06 pace

Worst training run ever. By far. Purely horrid. Nothing remotely redeemable. Felt like hitting the wall in a marathon only 5.5 miles in. Stopped. Walked. Last three miles in 19, 17, and 18 minutes ... read more

Fort Atkinson Half Marathon 13.22 mi 02:35 11:43 pace

All things considered (long time off running, lots of chocolate and weight gain and only back to running for four weeks, plus more hills than I'd expected), this race went pretty well. Cute little ... read more

Thanks for the vote of confidence. The combination of not running for 6-7 months and gaining 35 pounds just makes running a bit harder and less fun. Surprise!! But it is good to be back and moving forward.

Love the biking/running combination. You're inspiring to dust the cobwebs off my own bike and hit the trails.

  5. VELO
    Trails/Roads 2.82 mi 00:21 7.9mph pace

I was pretty slow today. Met some hills, rode across some grass and just wasn't speedy. This was more about transportation to the running.

  6. RUN
Prairie Path with Wheaton CAR... 6.04 mi 01:10 11:35 pace

Ran with a friend today. We didn't exactly stay with our pace groups, but had a great time. Last night's four hours of sleep on top of a diner dinner with ice cream sundae made this harder than it ... read more

  7. VELO

Took daughter out for about 4 miles of this one which made it slower but it was so worth it. I'm glad to have her interested in exercise.

I like the parent/child workout. It always seems so much more fun and relaxing.
Until we are in the driveway with a mean game of 2 on 2! Then it's WAR!

  8. RUN
Dog to do business 0.39 mi 00:05:00 12:49 pace

Legs (including bad calf) still hurt and the new shorts weren't comfortable for running, so I decided to switch to the bike. At least I was out of bed this morning!

  9. Serious pain in calf gave me an excuse to sleep in. Should have gotten up and exercised anyway, even if that exercise had not included running.

  10. RUN
Prairie Path with CARA Wheato... 11 mi 02:17 12:27 pace

This could be a long description of everything bad about this run, from the night before to the run itself to the aftermath. I'll just sum up to say that the important part is that I finished it.

Rode the big girls to school.

  12. RUN
    Neighborhood 3.8 mi 00:44 11:28 pace

First two miles around 12:20, then I realized I'd be home too late to get the husband off if I didn't hurry it up. Getting a tiny bit stronger and faster (though unfortuneately not much lighter).

  13. RUN
    Neighborhood 3.1 mi 00:34 11:06 pace

    Bad start, nice finish. 12:20, 10:54, 10:15; :57.

  15. RUN

Still suffering from adjustment to the heat. Overall a decent run.

My son was watching me put the run on dailymile yesterday and said, "excuses excuses" - whatever Kid! We did it and you were sleeping! Take that! ;-)
