I found a park to run at, planned the day, and off I went. Parked, stretched, and took off. Saw a paved trail one way, and a gravel trail the other way. Decided to hit the gravel trail, complete with plenty of tree roots. I seriously made it about 4 steps into the woods on the trail, and before I even knew I was falling, I was already on the ground. My foot caught one of those tree roots. You'd think that as much as I run a trail with Oreo, I would do better ... but alas, today was not one of those days. I got back up, and the front of my white shirt was covered in dirt, my right knee was scraped, my right elbow was scraped, and the palm of my left hand hurt. But oh my hell, when I breathed deeply my ribcage hurt like hell.

Decided I was fine, so took off running again. I kept having to stop to try to navigate so I wouldn't get lost and I had to stop when breathing got tough 'cause my damn ribcage hurt. I felt a headache coming on just from my body being jarred from the fall. Breathing deeply was an issue and the head was starting to bother me, but I looked down at my left hand and saw a bruise starting on my hand and up my wrist. I decided that I'd better get some ibuprofen in me before I really started to feel the impact of this.

Got back to the car and drove to Walmart, which I was going to anyway. Got my shopping done and a couple of errands done ... have everything unloaded, and since I took ibuprofen on an empty stomach, I'm going to eat some lunch, then head back out and attempt to get a few miles in. We'll see if I'm successful or not.

The ibuprofen has helped ... the headache is gone, and the ribcage feels much better. Maybe round two of this run will go better. Oh, and you know the saying "if you see me fall, please pause my Garmin"? Well, no one stopped my Garmin when I fell.

Onward and upward.

Bugger :( I am glad the ibuprofen has helped alleviate your headache and I'll keep my finger crossed that you get a Gozless run this afternoon.

Sorry to hear about the fall, at least it sounds like only minor damage. You can't rely on anyone these days, that's why I have the autopause setup on my Garmin.
