  1. injured 4.31 mi / 00:37 08:31 pace

I knew I shouldn't have run home but I did anyway. My feet have been feeling overworked from too much Vibram running. This time it messed me up. My left foot is swollen on top and my right is feeling some pain in the lower achilles. Walking and running... read more

  2. great 4.3 mi / 00:34 07:57 pace

Did about half at a 1/5 effort and half at 3/5 effort. Tore a new hole in the top of my vibrams today and it tore my sock too :/ It was so dark this morning I thought I had set one of my clocks wrong and I was an hour early!

  3. good 7.33 mi / 00:59 08:03 pace

I was late this morning so I rode my bike in and ran at lunch. This run was just effortless. I did have some foot pain and some blisters but the cardio was super easy just like last night's commute home. I love runs like that! Great weather too.

  5. alright 3.66 mi / 00:29 07:53 pace

Some ankle/foot trouble today, I was limping a little by the time I got in to work. I took the shorter route because I was late. Other than that it was a good run.

  6. blah 2.38 mi / 00:19 07:55 pace

Church running group consisted of me. Ran barefoot but it was poor conditions: ground was wet and clumped with leaves and seeds in places so my feet got a bit torn up.

  7. good 4.35 mi / 00:36 08:18 pace

Lots of rain and puddles. I started out too fast but eventually settled into a better breathing pattern and more comfortable stride. I felt like I could have gone for much longer at this pace. Looking forward to catching up on sleep this weekend among ... read more

  8. good 4.31 mi / 00:36 08:17 pace

Took the day off yesterday and biked in to work. This morning it was raining cats and dogs but I ran in anyway. Surprisingly my Vibrams held up pretty good when soaked all the way through. For some reason I got very sweaty running in and I'm still tryi... read more

I love the Vibrams. I am only at the point where I am running with them on grass. I want to build up to it and not over do it. How often and long do you run in them????

@Fred pronation is a natural movement of the foot and only matters in stiff-soled flat-bottom shoes. In Vibrams or barefoot it's actually beneficial because it allows you to connect midfoot and roll your foot into the ground rather than slapping it. Try running barefoot on grass sometime just to try it out. BTW the new Vibram Bikila is coming out soon, you might want to wait for that.

I got my pair of V5Fs late last summer, and I love them. I missed running for a while at the end of 2009, so I basically had to rebuild, starting with 1-2 short runs a week in them, and gradually increasing the distance, especially on my lower intensity workouts. Of the 19 or so miles I've run this week, I've done about 15 either in the V5Fs or barefoot, but I probably won't get any more in with the workouts I have remaining, they're either relatively intense or long.

  10. alright 4.28 mi / 00:36 08:24 pace

I had a little trouble this run because I couldn't take a deep breath. Easy pace though. Also got that pinky toe pain... I guess it's from some kind of bad form because I haven't been getting it at all lately at faster paces. I need to catch up on slee... read more
