good Sunday long run 21.1 mi 02:49 08:01 pace

Legs felt good to start off this morning. I'm convinced the @Zensah compression calf sleeves help with recovery. Clear skies and no snow on the roads this morning, but there was a pretty good breeze. Temps were a nice 31, but the wind made it feel closer to 20 and it seemed like I was running into it a lot! This was a great confidence building run coming off 19 yesterday. Pace was almost the same as yesterday's 19, 2 sec/mile slower. I had wanted to go a bit slower, but neeeded to be back home. The last 5k came in at 7:42/7:35/7:30, my fastest miles of the run! Happy with an average HR of 143.

Ate a banana and had a glass of water before leaving. GU gel and 5oz of water around mile 9 was my hydration/nutrition. I know I will need to be fueling and drinking more for the marathons. I just had carrying water with me and didn't bother to stash any along the route. Ended up with another 70 mile week and feel great. Next weekend I'll do long back to back days before, then begin a three week taper. Have a great Sunday all.

Great job Matt. I've been thinking about purchasing some compression pants but wondered if they really make a difference.

Those back-to-back long runs are something I haven't ventured to try yet, and no doubt they are a huge help. Great job getting this done Matt, really impressive training.
