good Commute - Rumpus Room 4.96 mi 00:25 11.9mph pace

Broke a spoke on my rear wheel (cassette side, of course) on the way in.

  2. VELO
good Commute - Secret Lair 8.01 mi 00:40 12.0mph pace

Wicked windy. I do manage to attract headwinds.

  3. VELO
good Commute - Shepard Road 13 mi 01:10 11.1mph pace

I always forget how nice it is to bike solo.

  4. VELO
    good Commute - 46th St. Station 3.21 mi 00:15:00 12.8mph pace

Just biked to the bus stop this morning.

blah Commute - Shepard Road route 12.32 mi 01:08 10.9mph pace

This was tough. Day 2, 30 Days of Biking for a total of over 50 miles? Not a good idea. But I did it! Tomorrow will be a sorta rest day. I'll be biking to the bus stop, which will keep the day... read more

tired Commute - Jefferson Route 10.93 mi 01:00 10.9mph pace

Probably not a good idea to leap into this with a 30 mile ride yesterday. My legs were very tired this morning, but I made it. I know this will get easier. A little chilly out, but beautiful. D... read more

Eh, running, biking, it's all movement. You'll get there.

alright Treadmill in the basement 2.25 mi 00:30 13:20 pace

C25k W1D2 - My knees and shins are kind of sore. I think it's because I was tired and was letting my feet flop down too much. Next time I need to watch my gait more closely.

If gait-watching doesn't solve it, the doc I saw recommended Super Feet and they have WORKED MIRACLES. I assume you have new-enough shoes that they aren't the problem. Glad you're keeping at it.

Another thing, resting your legs on tennis balls just under the meaty part of your calves can loosen the muscles up enough that it'll relieve some shin pain.

good Treadmill at home 2.2 mi 00:25 11:21 pace

Well, I'm starting C25k over. I got an inexpensive treadmill on Craigslist since it's hard to get away from work and go to the workout center in my building. I actually felt really good about thi... read more

Woot woot! Glad you're back on the horse. I think I restarted that damn program five or six times before it stuck.

alright Office building treadmill 2.1 mi

It went pretty well, I suppose. Still had to talk myself into finishing, but I did it, which was good. I'm repeating Week 1 of C25k until I have a workout I consider good.

  11. RUN
blah Treadmill in office gym 2.1 mi 00:33 15:42 pace

C25k W1D2 - Talked myself into going. Talked myself into doing every part. Eventually I'll start liking this, but for now it's just a bummer. I just need to get through the first 4-6 weeks.

Go you! That is what it takes. I found running to be miserable until I started to get better at it. And I'm still not GREAT at it, but it's fun now... most of the time.
