  1. alrightplantar fascist. 19 km / 01:27 07:22 pace

i know it's plantar fasciitis, but i prefer to give my new injury a face i can hate. so the pain in my foot will remain a fascist regime that i will do battle against. actually, it doesn't appear that bad yet, but i still had to take 3 days off and d... read more

thanks frank. actually, it feels fine when i'm running. it's mostly in the morning when my feet hit the floor after resting that it hurts the most. but thanks.

Dan, take great care. This has been my misery. Were it not for Boston, I would suggest 2 weeks off immediately (among other things) so in light of the need to keep running, be cautious, focus on the long term and inject x

wow, what a sensation. i felt hungry at the 5 km mark but rather than stop at home for fuel, i decided to gut it out. at the 15 km mark, i felt all energy drain from all of my moving muscles within the span of about 10 steps. i've never felt the ene... read more

  3. greatsunny as she goes 19 km / 01:28 07:27 pace

i tried to duplicate the feeling of my saturday long run with jeff by hitting the river trails again, but it just wasn't the same without the company. instead, i felt some knee pain. back to my hum drum flat course before the hills do me in. the sun... read more

  4. greatgrey day, sunny spirits 33 km / 02:52 08:21 pace

that was an amazing run with jeff that lifted my spirits immeasurably. there's no doubt that we were at conversational pace since the conversation filled a hole that was about 5 months overdue. we covered some significant hills on this route in and o... read more

now that the roads are clear and the weather sits around the freezing mark at night, i don't feel like i ever want to get on a treadmill again. what an amazing time to run. this one was a bit of a gut buster. it's a light week in terms of distance, ... read more

  7. goodhunky dory 26 km / 01:59 07:23 pace

i believe i'm going to have to settle for 4 runs most weeks in this season of the year. there's just too much on the go. i had to miss yesterdays 16 because of rare yet chronic back pain. anyway, it just means that i have to make each run count. re... read more

  8. goodone of three 16 km / 01:11 07:08 pace

i am realizing that my present schedule makes me compile 2/3 of my mileage on the weekend in a 40 hour span. so i kept this one light and loose, picking it up a little in the last couple of km's. nearly my entire route is snow-free. a nice feeling run.

i think i've finally figured out why i run near race pace every day! it's a mystery that i've been trying to solve for a few years now. my answer is: that i'm addicted to the pain. as much as i hate the feeling of burning in my lungs, of lactic acid... read more
