  1. goodSpring has sprung! 10.25 mi / 01:33 09:04 pace

Longest run in our TNT training to date, and the fastest long run by a healthy margin to boot. Off to try out my new compression socks and drink the smoothie my wife just made!

Great work, Matt. Nice mileage; enjoy the smoothie and the new gear.

  3. goodThat's what I'm talking about! 7.24 mi / 01:00 08:17 pace

Took care of two challenges (minus the nap--too much hoops on tonight!) and met my goal to log a good solid hilly hour. AND settled an argument among my students about the length of the hill up to the school (0.97 miles to the front door). AND got to ... read more

  4. greatSpring! 7 mi / 00:55 7.6mph pace

A few hard days, so wanted to take it easy today, and my wife had the ingenious idea of breaking out our new-to-us mountain bikes for a leisurely ride. Went out a little on my own to get in some hills and get the heart rate up. SO much fun!

  5. goodBaby speedwork 5.08 mi / 00:41 08:00 pace

Ran to and from the track, where the real fun started. 4 x 800 in: 3:25 (estimate - forgot to hit the lap timer), 3:33, 3:28, 3:21 - 400 recovery after each. First time on the track in a year and a half, so I'm pretty pleased.

  6. goodHilly bike program 9.37 mi / 00:43 13.0mph pace

GRUELING program on the bike simulator at school--quads are burning. Good cross-training!

  7. Wii Fit Recovery 01:07

Some strength and yoga and balance games for fun--just wanted to stretch it out. Cross-training on the bike tomorrow!

  8. goodTour of the Queen City 9.91 mi / 01:33 09:25 pace

Nice scenic run around Manchester--was supposed to be 9, but our coach rounded. Felt pretty great all things considered!

Nice work and mileage, Matt. Way to go my friend.

Nice! Can't wait to get back with you guys... what route(s) are you guys doing?

    • Matt B. Matt B.

      Thanks, Brian!

Teresa: We went down River Rd to Canal St., then right on Commercial through the Millyards and down to the Fisher Cats' stadium, through the footpath behind the stadium and over the footbridge. Ran out to Main St., took a right and then another right onto Granite, then left on Commercial and back to SNHU. You add a run up the hill and back and it's an even 10! See you next week, right?

  9. goodBreaking 'em in.... 3.58 mi / 00:30 08:22 pace

An easy 30 min to help break in the new trail shoes--success! I wanted an easy consistent run and got just that--mile splits of 8:26, 8:23, 8:25 before picking it up a bit at the end. 9 miles tomorrow!

  10. goodTop o' the Mornin'! 5 mi / 00:41 08:14 pace

Finally got up and got in a run before school--felt pretty fantastic and SO quiet!

    • Brendan M. Brendan M.

Matt - nice early AM run - great pace. We were almost running together (virtually, that is).

I certainly don't mind being mistaken for a student--I actually get that often enough around here after I change for a run!
