How long does recovery take after hitting the wall?
not sure, i'd take some time to rest :) Maybe change things up a bit when you are rested with some interval training or circuits or something?

Laying low until Wednesday. This walk around the block with my wife wore me out!
Then I run for fun all summer long and am mixing twice weekly strength training.

I finished! I bonked, but I finished. And walked the last several miles. HR/blood pressure (I assume) was way out of whack. Someone broke the 10% rule!

Good job finishing despite your body throwing a fit! I had a tough day too, but finished and am glad. Feels good to stop after over 7 hours on that crazy trail!

Earth Day 5k in St. Cloud. First run since loosing my toenail. No problem.
Marco Corporate Team came in 6th. Something to shoot for next year!
Stubbed toe outside in flip flops yesterday. Today, toe nail taken away.
Two days no shoes. No running until general healing. Four months no nail.

Run w/ coworkers from Marco over the lunch hour. Beautiful trail, that Beaver.
Lunch time 5k with a coworker. Goal: Lunch time 5k three times a week.
Wore my trail shoes (~50 miles) and had ZERO pain. My road shoes (+350 miles) are causing pain recently.
Why do you think I have pain after running in my road shoes?

She did.
Lateral release. Medial tightening. Tibia relocation. Patella scraping. Two screws to hold things in place in each knee.
Gag.
Right knee, March. Left knee, September. Five months on her back in bed. Then wheelchair. Then crutches. Then Limping.
Friday was her last day of PT.

Good idea: Running on a treadmill.
Bad idea: Falling asleep while running on a treadmill.
Yikes!! Result in any injuries?

I didn't fall. I was remembering Animaniacs. I'm injured in the sense that I ran ten minutes longer than last week and went a half mile less distance. My pride is waning.

Sometimes it's just not in the cards. Could be so many reasons-- rest, carbs, caffeine, sore muscles. I've found that the only thing to fix the emotional distress of a bad run is to follow with a good run soon after.

New Nathan hydration pack is awesome. Totally forgot it was there.
Reminder, do not wear long sleeves while running indoors.
Nice work! Sometimes I set rules for myself with sleeves. For example, you cannot take off the long sleeved layer until you've gone _x_ miles. Another rule that I use is that I cannot look at my watch or treadmill stats until I've listened to 4 songs. These little games help distract me from the grind.
Good rules. Today I wore only long sleeves and the ladies at the gym don't wanna see me with my shirt off...

Ryan, this hydration pack is awesome. Ran twice with it, 65 oz water.
I used a hip pack during the race last year, and while the pack was of excellent quality, it required I run with my arms out a bit to avoid striking the pockets because the pouch in the front kept striking my groin and the water bottle holder on the back kept whacking my butt and I had to twist it sideways for stability. I decided I won't be using a hip pack for trail runs anymore due to this. On the road, no problem though.
