Trails and track 10.62 mi 01:43 09:41 pace

I met Joe B. and my friend Dave for some pretty gross mud work today. I got there early and did 2 miles on the 1/2 mile cinder track at South Park. There were some big storms that came through the area last night, so everything was wet. The terrain was a little sloppy, not unbearable, but the rain weighed down all the vegetation, so we were running through it basically the whole time. It was a struggle after 6 miles...some of it being lost & back tracking (not to mention 1,000' of vert & 800' of in the first 5 miles). We headed out for 10 on the trails - I was happy stopping after 8.6! I earned the large stack of pancakes that I devoured after this run! I think I finally hit/passed 1,000 miles for the year. My 2012 goal of 2,012 miles looks like it's slipping away. Oh well..2,013 in 2013?

Sounds like an adventure for sure. I just hit 1000 this week too. Not sure 2012 is still within reach. Silly tapering and recovery messing things up :)

Nice Hot and Heavy run. It would have been better with Tammy rather then with the boys! I hammered some pancakes this AM too. Have a good day brother

You're just looking for excuses to wear the INOV-8s, aren't ya? :) Great work...sounds tough...hot, heavy, hilly and probably a bit slick here & there I'll bet. Way to get 'er dun. Flapjacks & bacon for recovery here today too. Yours were def well earned bro!

You are hitting those trails hard Mark. Great stuff. If you would have run Houston in January, you would have gotten those 2012. Just sayin' :)
