Ankle and foot problems creeping up so I'm sitting on a trainer listening to running podcasts. There's pain in my lateral plantar fascia since Saturday's long run that needs to go away.

Oh, that stinks.

Give the foots a break and they surely recover! ;) anyway, not being able to run always sucks haha

This is probably my body's way of forcing me to taper before the marathon.

Ugh! I cringe when any of my buds are injured or even aching! Take care of yourself so you can get back at it FULL STEAM!!!!

Nice spin Mark! I like how you switch off to cross-train when you are injured. Hope all feels better soon.

Spinning is just as good during your taper! Rest and heal up for the big day.

Everyone, thanks for your words of encouragement. I'm trying not to give into taper madness and worrying about little pains that crop up. After months of training for this event, it's hard not to.
@sherrie, thanks for the confirmation of what I'm doing. I know that all of the training is behind me now and I can't lose much running fitness at all with such little time left.
@carolyn, I'm learning to deal with injury with a little more intelligence. That's not easy for someone like me.

You are staying active and letting that foot rest. Perfect for a taper... You got this...!

I am not a very experienced runner but I did spend years of my life in a pool. I always felt off during taper but the end result was always good. Chalk the aches and pains up to part of the taper. You will be ready for your marathon. No doubt about it! Hang in there and ride it out...no pun intended. :-)
