  1. RUN
    blah DLS 6.5 mi 00:48 07:23 pace

Don't know why, but this afternoon I had the dreaded Dead Leg Syndrome. They were wonky even during my warmup, and after doing only one 800 I bailed on the workout. Going to hit it tomorrow ... read more

It amazes me that you bailed on your run and still ended up with 6.5 miles.

Hope the DLS passes quickly. I am sure you will log a 16 mile sub 7 run tomorrow...

Smart to listen to your body, Mark. I needed to do the same yesterday.

    Coffee Break 10 mi 00:30 20.0mph pace

Jumped on the trainer this morning before leaving for a meeting.

  3. RUN
Easy Monday Miles 10.5 mi 01:15 07:08 pace

Taking it easy on the treadmill after my swim. Anything over an hour on the treadmill gets old, but I'm just economizing my time.

    • Andy F.

It gets old far before that for me, especially in the spring/summer.

Nice double work out Mark. I would rather deal with the heat and squishy shoes than endure the treadmill. Wise use of time though.

    A necessary evil 1000 m 00:22 35:24 pace

Nothing fancy, just two sets of 500m at well below race effort.

  5. RUN
Short long run 10 mi 01:13 07:17 pace

These weekends aren't being very nice to my training, but I'm getting lots of family time. Either way, my 16 was cut short to 10 as this is all the time I had.

  6. VELO
Lil noon ride 50 mi 02:28 20.3mph pace

Finished my yard work and machete wielding and got some miles in on the bike. Kept the pace steady and pushed the effort the last 10. Getting hot out there.

  7. RUN
    Humitempo 10 mi 01:06 06:35 pace

Wow. H-town hit me with obscene levels of full frontal humidity. All the sweat made my chest a gnat magnet, came back wearing an insect cardigan.

  8. VELO
    Spincovery 10 mi 00:31 19.4mph pace

Stretching out the legs, pretty sore still but looking forward to a good workout tomorrow. A nice tempo run on tap in the morning.

  9. RUN
    Recovery 7.5 mi 01:00 08:00 pace

Legs were pretty sore this morning. Feels so good to know I worked hard. Distance is an estimate as I just trudged along for 60 minutes and thought about work.

    • Greg S.
      Greg S.

I felt the same way yesterday, didn't mind being pokey as I felt I'd earned it, for once. Nice job, I forgot my watch today so my run will be purely estimated too (and on trails, that will make it a true SWAG).

    Hurt Locker 11 mi 01:13 06:35 pace

Mile intervals are my arch-nemesis, they start to hurt just enough to make them difficult to finish. I always dread these, just as much as hard tempo runs (also on the menu for this week). I ran 3 ... read more

good Cramp Doctor 10 mi 00:30 20.0mph pace

  14. RUN
good Easy Stroller 9.6 mi 01:10 07:17 pace

    Grrr 500 m 00:10:10 32:43 pace

More of a cool down from running than a swim workout. Feeling no desire to work on my swim.

At least you did it. I think that the swim will forever keep me from trying the tri. Nice workouts today.
