I can't believe it's 5 days since the ultra and my quads are STILL sore. I think some total body fitness is in order for my next build.

I did the Susquehanna Super Hike & Ultra Trail Run last weekend.. 28.4 miles.. really technical stuff, though, and slow going... 1/2 the crowd was hikers who didn't run a step. Interesting experience, considering I hadn't been on hills or trails for months!

Check out then what I'm doing on October 3rd... no hikers/walkers allowed really.. there are cut off times we have to make, which did scare me, but I've been training, and have so far made the cut offs in training.

Blues Cruise 50k... Tech trail as well...
Great job on YOUR Ultra, can you tell me more, like how long did it take, how much did you run compared to hike, or did you run all of it?
Drop me a message if you like..
      Thanks

      Ryan,
I'm doing the Susquehanna Super Hike & Ultra Run. I see you're doing Labor Pains! I didn't think I'd be able to fit that in but turns out I technically could, but I think I'll still hold off... expecting 12 hours might require more than a week to require from! Sounds very cool, though.

Ah, yeah. I really wanted to do that event but had committed to Labor Pains back in March.

I also missed the Super Hike last year; I was getting married that day!

I've hiked and run both the Mason-Dixon and Conestoga trails extensively. We're really fortunate to have such awesome terrain so close to Lancaster.

Nice and consistent! Excellent work. Was it hard to keep the pace steady the whole time? I end up watching my watch like a hawk when I'm trying for consistency.

Ha! Actually, 8:42 is my, "I'm tired and don't feel like running," pace. I can run those without even looking at my watch. In fact, when I don't look at my watch, that's almost always what they are. :)
