      Well, if you hadn't wisely taken the time out, your HR might be nice and low but your thigh still painful. IMO you did the best thing, and the training fitness will soon build up again. The first day back is always the worst, I find.

      Thanks runners51 ;-D But the real heroes are my cousin who did it in 5h and finished 8th, my buddy in less than 6. I'm happy with my 7 hours and ready to work harder especially on uphills to do better next year...

      Thanks! I love this place. This part of the trail is pretty clean. The downhill before is tougher. Bigger rocks, you can't put your feet flat on the ground ;-)
