In honor of Mother's Day, I decided to dedicate these 10 tough miles to 10 tough moms:
1. My mom - thanks for sticking it out one more time to bring me into the world. I appreciate all that you have done for me.
2. My grandmother (Bubba) - I had the distinct pleasure of growing up next door to my paternal grandmother (and her sister). If there was 1 thing I could make happen for other kids, it would be to spend as much time with their grandparents as I was able to do with mine. Both she, and my great-aunt, left this world nearly 17 years ago, and I still miss them.
3-4. My husband's grandmothers - both had an enormous part in helping him become the man I love. I miss them both very much.
5-7. My sister-in-laws (Laura, Kelly, and Maureen) - thank you for becoming part of my family, and for the pleasure of now having several nieces and nephews.
8-10. My friends (Roseanne, Nicole, and Haley) - 3 incredible women who have shown me how you can get through the worst of times, and how precious life is.
11 (my cooldown). My childhood friend (Joy) - Her name says it all. We had so many wonderful times together, and now I have great joy in watching her with her family, including 2 beautiful children.
Thank you all for inspiring me. I'm not exaggerating, when I say thinking of you got me through the last 5 miles when I dropped back from the group today. You are all amazing.
