Debated on the run due to lingering effect of my cold/cough but forecast calls for some nasty conditions tomorrow, so I beat the alarm clock in preparation for a busy day today and got my long run in. Felt generally o.k. through the run but dragged the last four miles - nothing in me to do the last @ miles marathon pace.

Beyond running, another one of my hobbies/interest is playing the Great Highland Bagpipes - so today is a day filled with holiday cheer playing in a local parade finishing off @ on Irish Pub playing some Scottish/Irish tunes on the pipes. Erin Go Bragh! Happy weekend.

Excellent 16 miler Brendan! Most people would have stayed in bed....

Cool about the bagpipes. How about posting a vid of you playing?

Thanks Brian - not sure if I would call it a smackdown but posted mileage - getting these long runs in and kept the low so fueling the aerobic base.

@Ally - Timed it perfectly, huh! LOL. Recently saw the "Meet the Team" vid on the Daily Mile team where I learned of your ancestry. For you ma'am, Flowers of Scotland will echo through Maine today. Don't know too many Welsh songs for the britishbulldog - will have to research that. Good day.

LOL. Waiting for dawn to break, so I can go out for my run. They don't let us run in Chicago parks until 6am. Good luck researching Welsh songs for Steve.

@Steve - thanks - it might be on the tele on the Irish pub where I will hoist a Guinness - good for what ales you. Don't know too many songs with Welsh ancestry. Will research that. The only thing I have that is remotely welsh is our Pembroke "Welsh" Corgi we call "Orbit".

Life in the big city, Brendan. LOL. That's why I have to run on gym treadmills during the week. Weather's getting better now, so I'll get outdoors more.

Great you got the run in today, so you can have that extra beer on the Irish pub without effecting your long run. Have a great concert, - and I want to see a video of you playing bagpipe!

Nice run, Brendan! How much does lung capacity/fitness play a part in playing the bagpipes? Either way, you should have the "pipes" for it. Hehehehe...ahem.
