I haven't been able to run since around June 27th. I'm claiming that I suffered another stress fracture - because the experience/feeling has been almost exactly the same as the first one, though an x-ray (from the wrong angle, I say!) shows no evidence of such an injury. It's been almost 6 weeks, and my ankle is feeling better, but I still don't feel comfortable enough to run. In fact, it's still tender to the touch, and to the flex.
But I've been cooped up, and I'm getting antsy. I tried a short, slow walk yesterday - and by the end of it, my ankle was bothering me. So what do I do today? Yep - you guessed it. I went for a 5 mile bike ride. It actually wasn't that bad (because I could coast a lot!). Went to DQ and back. Mmmm...mud pie blizzard.
I hope I'll be able to run soon....
