Hey running enthusiasts! Especially those who plan to be at the Boston Marathon Expo! Remember when I asked which of you may be running Boston this year? This is why...I am excited at the prospect of helping my friend's new company and hope that you will “like” her new Facebook page, Active Zest.
Active Zest is a startup company that’s looking to create a new trend in marathons and other running events, while also making a big impact toward helping charities in the process. Injecting fresh energy into traditional race souvenirs, Active Zest makes fun and unique collectible pins that capture the characteristic spirit and symbols of an event – similar to pins that you might find at The Olympics or Disney. Five pins will be available for sale at the Boston Marathon Expo in April (I've seen them...they are awesomely perfect!).
Supporting charitable organizations is a core component of Active Zest’s mission, and in addition to funding a program that helps official charity race teams with fundraising, the company is donating 15% of proceeds at this year’s Boston Marathon Expo to charity.
But which charity?
ANY official B.A.A. charity and more!! That’s right! Stop by the Active Zest booth, and select from one of 27 official B.A.A. charities, and Active Zest will donate 15% of your purchase to the charity of your choosing. It’s a great way to support your favorite cause, and walk away with a cool souvenir that you can wear every day on your hat, jacket or bag.
While the Boston Marathon Expo will be its first event, Active Zest plans to participate in many other major events in the future, and to continue its mission of supporting charity.
The company just launched its Facebook page this weekend, and will be using the page to promote its charity offerings and offer sneak peaks of its products. More “likes” = more chance to make a difference! Please “like” the company’s Facebook page at, share this info with your friends, and stay tuned for more updates!
