    The wind made the -6°C feel a lot colder, so I opted for the Feelmax today. This was the first run of the year, but not the first barefoot run of the year for me.

    I enjoyed the light dusting of fresh snow, but at -5°C I did not enjoy the salted streets and sidewalks. The run felt good for the most part, I just hope the salt effect didn't do any damage.

      salt should not cause damage. the other chemicals might.

      Salt when combined with snow or ice causes it to melt by dropping the temperature. That super cooled water/slush reaches and freezes parts of the feet that don't come in contact with the ground. It can also freeze deeper into the skin layers. Salt by itself on a dry surface isn't so bad.

    As long as the temperatures stay like this, I will be able to continue running barefoot in relative comfort. The rock salt on the sidewalks was the worst part of the run.
