Make sure you force the issue to start antibiotics today. A lot of docs will want to want...do not wait!! My wife is going on 2 years now of antibiotics because of these damned things and their diseases

I called explained and politely as i could demanded doxycycline.... I was unsuccessful. Was told to wait for symptoms to show before i called back... Is there a black market for antibiotics??

I have 200 tablets of it in my hand. We take 1 a day as a prophylaxis against malaria here in Afghanistan. Not suggesting that you call any redeploying Soldiers, though . . . Find another provider. A prophylactic series is not out of the question. Your doc is, stated simply, a bit of a wuss.

Get a new doctor, especially being in Mass. Also, symptoms are but not limited to, fatigue, chills, fever, headache, muscle and joint aches, and swollen lymph nodes. The redness or "bulls-eye" only occurs in 70% of those infected.

More symptoms, tingling sensation in the extremities, confusion.
DEMAND to be seen and to get started on antibiotics.
    From the Mayo Clinic:
If you know you've been bitten and experience signs and symptoms of Lyme disease, particularly if you live in an area where Lyme disease is prevalent, contact your doctor immediately. Treatment for Lyme disease is most effective if begun early. The longer the tick remains attached to your skin, the greater your risk of getting the disease.

I agree with everyone else - I was told by my doctor that the best way to mitigate the disease is to start the antibiotics as soon as you suspect you've been bitten. You need to either demand that your doctor write the script or go somewhere that will.

I messaged you about some stuff, then read that you've dealt with Lyme before so you know what's what. I hope that disgusting little critter did not give you anything!!

Prophalaxis is NOT overrated in this case...I've known two individuals diagnosed with Lyme late...one due to not knowing to look for that disease, one due to stooopid military doc....find a doc to work with you...and let's hope you have nothing to worry about! ROCKSTARs don't let ticks get the best of them!
