The proximity paid off today. Did a full hour workout only being away from my desk for a little over 90 minutes. Can probably get it under 80 minutes if I try a little harder. No drills today, just... read more

Gym is real close, but I zoned out working on something in a spreadsheet and before I knew it it was 1pm. So, I cut short the workout and did double drills. The usual, fists, catchup, one arm then ... read more

Monday lunch hour. Didn't have much time, but being so close I was able to get a lot more than normal. No drills since I'd done double drills on Sunday. Just out and back, and out and back, and out... read more

A solid workout. It's a shame it's pretty much the only one of the week. Didn't even have my weights workout. Excuses came fast and furious this week, but truth be told I'm not any closer to having... read more

I didn't realize how chlorinated the pool was until I started swimming in other pools. The best pool I swam in was in Europe. I didn't think they had any chlorine in the water until someone told me they put in just the right amount. Good workout.

Not a good week workout wise, but hoped to have a good one today. Turned out well, but probably shorter than I could/should have gone. I doubled my drill distances to 1100 yrds which is probably th... read more

I swim at the 24 in mid-town. Lets just say the clientele is different from any other gym I have been a member of. Wedding band is a must.

You know, I joined LA Fitness because of the proximity, and it's quite a difference from the Y. Simiarl I'm guessing to the 24F in mid-town. At the Y I'd say the average age at midday workouts 75. At LAF, it was funny, there was a late model corvette in the closest handicapped spot. With a handicapped sticker, granted, but I've never seen a corvette in a Y parking lot. Not even downtown.

Well done! Now to really simulate the IM experience, have someone in the lane whacking you in the head and trying to take your goggles. :-)

Funny you should say that because the first few laps I shared a lane with someone doing doggie paddle. Yes, doggie paddle. Didn't quite know what to think of that.
