Those are hard days to deal with....but I like the take-away of mental strength that it builds. Today I heard of a marathoner hoping to BQ at a marathon in 3 weeks. She just ran Big Sur and missed it by 3 minutes. And she's 60. Nothing I want to ever try doing, that is a TON of work. You're way strong for accomplishing what you have in past several weeks.

Before the marathon, I was beefing up my iron....and since then I've scaled back a bit (no hemp seeds, not a ton of spinach, etc). Such an essential part of recovery. Guess I should work that back in. Hoping for a better week of running.

Oh boy Liz....that flu run sounded awful. Only in a race do we push ourselves so...the worst running conditions ever for me was a tie between the CIM 97 (solo) and the 2012 CIM (relay). I would NEVER train under those conditions...

Glad you had a nice rebound run. Unless there is a specific reason to run 10 I'd say play it by ear and just run whatever feels right.

I think you just need to float downstream for another week or so, get a couple good leg massages and some jacuzzi time. You're already a studette for your Big Sur run, now recoup!
