How do you fit in workouts when you're completely swamped at work? For the past week I've been going in to the office early, staying late, even going in on days off. I hope the crazy lets up soon, I'm starting to miss regular runs.

I've avoided the plague so far, escaped to my parents' for the weekend and took a lovely long run... by accident. For some reason I thought the run was 3 miles, not 5... oh well!

I've hit that point where I'm addicted to running and a rest day feels like lazy indulgence. I was driving around, running errands in light rain, and I actually felt jealous of the two runners I saw on the road. What's happened to me?

Congratulations Lida, well done you are a rock star!! Time to take a closer look at your knee though, I am wondering if perhaps it is the way your landing your foot. Are you landing on your heel by chance, or are your running shoes either the wrong type or in need of replacement perhaps. Food for thought :) I hope your knee gets better though and that it is a simple fix.

Thanks Rob - I think it's just acting up from last week, when I got a little carried away by the excitement of progress :) I'm taking it easy this week but these rest days are killing me! I'm addicted :)

We all have our bad runs, don't let it get you down Lida. Look forward to your next run outside and see how you feel. If your knee still bothers you it may be time to take a look at your running shoes, there could be other factors involved as well, time will tell :)

I think there'd be days like this even for the most experienced runner; so you can slack a bit. :)
about 17 hours agoTry not to let work take over your life totally Lida! You need some "me" time, it is important for your health! Exercise can be your "me" time, one on one with yourself to help prioritize your life overall, because without a healthy body everything else becomes not so important. Get those runs in!!
