      suuuper late response, but it was called for heat/humidity. i heard after that they ran out of water on the course and i saw lots of runners getting oxygen, sitting on the side of the road, etc. i'm in PR shape, which is sub 8 minute miles for 10 miles and i struggled for 9 minute miles. yuck.
