good Boxing Drills @ Peter Welch's Gym 01:05

Class was packed which meant fewer breaks and working the bag to the point of wanting to throw up. I was in HEAVEN!

I ended up partnering with a guy for drills and bag work. Growing up around all boys, I knew I was in for some serious work. Oh and this guy was ambidextrous. Which meant that I was working my footwork left and right. Oh good grief. Anyone who knows me understands the challenge of me staying on my feet under normal circumstances. So to make me switch up my lead feet could have ended in disaster. However, I really started to get the feel of my feet under me. Woohoo!

Because of the crowded class, the trainer was working both sides of the gym so we stayed on each drill longer than normal. My jab was nothing but marshmallow fluff by the time we moved to the bag.

Crap. But at least we were working a 1-2-1 combo on the bag. So it was a little bit of a break. By the time we were at the usual stopping point, I was walking the thin line of wanting to vomit and wanting to pass out. So I did what any sane person would do, grabbed some water and switched to southpaw. A couple of combos in and I could feel the power of the bag again. And my feet were cooperating. Well mostly.

Finally the buzzer sounded. Class was over. Right?! Nope. Shadowboxing time. Threw a few combos but worked mostly on my feet and finding my rhythm with my left side in lead.

Walked out completely wrecked and happy. As it should be.
