  1. goodPT Coaching 3800 m / 01:20

Swam under the watchful eye of Noa Deutsch, my coach. She gave me great pointers (some new, some reminders). I have a long way to go to improve my swimming. Anyway, it was a good set.

Highlight was doing 100ms breathing every 3, 5, and 7. I started g... read more

No. No sprints. I did find it really easy to breathe after doing the 7s. 4 felt like nothing. Next time, I'll try to do a sprint after.

  2. goodMt. Stewart 10 mile XC race 15.59 km / 01:10 07:10 pace

I managed to get third overall at Mt. Stewart 10 mile XC race, which is good. I'll do a blog post about this race, because there are a few good stories:

    - fire
    - ice
    - dynamite
    - falling
    - taking the wrong turns
    - epic wins

great work, friend. it must be so nice to have races to attend during winter. in comparison, it feels like you've jumped time and are in the middle of spring or summer. it must be such a different feeling.

Yeah! I heard it is -50 there today. What is with that?! Crazy. I actually snowed in Victoria today, but I'm feeling still very lucky to be here.

Good swim this morning. I appreciate the feedback from the coach, which is helping me (slowly) improve. I'm grateful for the people I swim alongside . . . Some seriously amazing athletes. They inspire me to strive.

  5. alrightMt. Doug Hill with the hairy ... 9 km / 00:50 08:56 pace

Did a long warm up then ran 3/4 the way up Mt. Doug. Then, I ran a large hill 5 times. I think the hill is about 350m, maybe a little more. It took me about 1:30-1:35 to run it each time. It was really hard and hurting. Probably good for me.

The last time I did 2 mi of swimming, it was in open water, we got stung by jellyfish, and it took me the better part of 2 hours to complete... and I slept like a baby afterwards. Nice job!

  8. alrightCedar Hill Run 8 km / 01:00 12:04 pace

Some hill running and timed lap running today. I am sore for longer runs I did on the weekend, but nevertheless held it together.

I think I ran a 3:47 pace in the time trial, which is not my fastest pace. Then we did some hill sets. OUCH.

I need to pick things up on the swim front. I was tired today from the late nights I've been pulling due to school, but I was getting dropped pretty hard throughout the swim. I'm starting to feel like I need to offer more to my other teammates.
