Nashville Ultra 50K 31 mi 06:25 12:25 pace

This was a different kind of race for me. I was pacing a my barefoot vegan buddy (who ran the entire race barefoot!), and I went in way undertrained. The weather was cool and we were taking it easy and talking most of the first half of the race. Because we were taking it easy, I wasn't hydrating properly, which caught up with me at 19. I sent my buddy off to finish his race and nursed my cramps the rest of the way. According to my Garmin, I rested about 31 minutes at the rest stops. That was really weird for me, but for me it was about pacing my friend and just doing the distance. I just didn't feel the urgency in this race that I do in a normal race. I don't know if I'll ever do it again, but at least I can tick it off my to-do list.
