Agreed! Dreading winter due to winter dreadmills. Good job getting your miles in!

They are SUPER lame! I have a really hard time getting to 4 miles on a treadmill... my brain goes crazy.

I will do ALMOST anything to avoid the dreadmill - even brave below zero windchill - but I won't run in the dark on a winter day....so they are a necessary evil.

I don;t mind them, but I seem to be in the minority. With my kids the treadmill gives me so much more flexibility since I don't need to arrange for someone to watch them but can do it from home.

I miss yoga. There used to be a great instructor at our gym years ago and he also taught Bikram, but I we lived in Las Vegas and I couldn't face working out where it was that hot to then go outside and have it be even hotter!

haha, i know how you feel! i hope i can keep up with it at college because it seriously makes me feel so much better. unfortunately the bikram instructor at the studio i used to go to (at college) is a sexist/ageist tool (excuse my language)... sigh... i might try to find a new place to go though

My 10k training program told us to rest 2 days before the race. If you do exercise, take it easy, low impact. You worked hard to get here and you'd hate to injure yourself before the race. Good luck!

A running friend told me to rest for two days before to have "fresh legs" for the race. It looks like that is what you decided to do.

Good luck! I did my first one a couple weeks ago. I think I started out too fast too and then felt like I couldn't catch my breath. My time was better than I expected though. Have fun with it! The advice I got from a friend was to take it easy for the first one so that it will be fun and easy for you to beat the next time you do one.
