#dailymission Do you ever run/bike/swim on a whim--without a plan? When is the last time this happened? Um, every day. Seriously--I'm not a planner, and I don't do well with authority. I don't find running to a plan enjoyable at all. Why feel miserable because you were supposed to run x pace and you weren't feeling it? Or limit yourself to six miles when you feel like doing 12? I have a general idea about how many miles I'd like to get in each week and the types of distances/workouts I need for upcoming races, but the time of day, the distances, the days of the week--all up to chance, my schedule and how I feel any given day. It's been working for me for over a year, so no complaints. Same with Pilates--I have a couple of sessions set in stone each week, but when I find myself with an extra hour at the studio, I work out--generally whatever I need to practice or what my body needs that day. It's very freeing. I'm also lucky I'm my own boss, so I don't have to fit something in before or after normal work hours--props to those of you who do.
