Heat training continues.
So far, so good. Left around 10am (82 degrees, about 50% humidity, so not bad--I think I prefer mid-morning because while the temps may be a bit higher, the humidity is lower) and felt great. Did a two mile warm-up, a mile at tempo (7:49--woo hoo!) and three mile cool down. Want to incorporate more speed into my workouts this summer, since I don't plan on running much in the way of distance, but have a number of races planned (1 mile to 10K distance). I figure the best way to plan for heat, hills and humidity is to run in them--tempo included. This was just a way to ease into it. More intervals this week, and probably 1.5-2 miles of tempo next week. I figure I don't need to work up to more than 4 or 5 given my race schedule.
Very pleased and ready to put the bad half behind me and move on with my summer races.
