Started training today for the mid-November Chickamauga Half Marathon -- a day 'early' based on Higdon's program. Needed to adjust to make time for church on Sundays. It is hard to do 10-milers that early and not fall asleep in the pew! This will be a change for me -- long runs on Saturdays. I've been running 'long' on Sundays for as long as I can remember. My goal at Chickamauga this year? Definitely under 1:50 (missed that by 3 seconds last year). Would love to be at 1:45. Need to get that confidence up, though. Sometimes negativity can carry with me all through a race. "Can't do this ... can't do this ... can't do this ... " Always has been a battle. I'll have to do some imagery during training these next few months -- seeing nothing but 1:45 at the finish line every morning I wake up. Anyway. Thoughts.
