  1. RUN
    good 2.31 mi

I haven't run since a minor injury quite awhile ago. It felt good and I didn't even have the "ankle click" that I normally experience. It might be time to resume running...

  2. RUN
    good Halleck Lane 2.13 mi

It's been awhile. I occasionally run short distances in the pasture and I've been running in the fields during harvest. Tonight I quit early and took the new dog, Ronan, for a little ru... read more

  3. RUN
good zipline to home 0.67 mi

Our whole family took our nightly walk after dinner. We stopped at the zipline but there was too much water. C challenged me to a race home. I said I wasn't going directly home, but I wante... read more

  4. RUN
good pasture loop 0.95 mi 00:15:00 15:47 pace

Cassidy and I jogged and chatted about running the entire time.

  5. RUN
alright pasture loop 0.95 mi 00:09:00 09:28 pace

Kimberly and I ran with the dogs.

  6. RUN
    good 650W 2.63 mi

I got a late start but had another good run. I'm looking forward to resuming my old routine.

  7. RUN
    good Halleck Lane 2.13 mi

I haven't run since I injured my knee (IT band?) while skishoeing last winter. Some of the dogs are out of shape, too. I took the five younger ones for this short outing and it went well. B... read more

  8. RUN
good Where did you run?a 5.84 mi

Morgan was pokey. Other dogs did well. It was drizzling and we had the trail to ourselves.

  9. RUN
    good McCormick Place 4.05 mi

It was cool and I needed to be quick.

  10. RUN
    good 6.12 mi

Headed to Red Bull Flugtag after our usual run.

  11. RUN
    good Sledding Hill 4.98 mi

Morgan was lagging so I dropped him at the beach with friends.

  12. RUN
    good McCormick Place 4.05 mi

I added my seventh dog, Morgan. We didn't quite complete the route because the Lifetime Tri was in progress and it was just too annoying to deal with their rest stops blocking the path.

      The route doesn't show? Interesting...

It's along Lake Michigan from 35th Street overpass to McCormick place.

Oh. I see. There is a "view route" option. Sorry.

I added Bozo. Everyone did well, especially considering that there was a fundraiser walk happening so we had to go around large clusters of people.

I am so amazed that you can run -- through / amongst fundraising walkers -- with a group of dogs. It's a gift, Ky.

It's a joy. The dogs do a remarkably good job of staying in position when we keep moving. The tangles come when we stop for poop cleanup. We went off-trail a lot on the way home and I enjoyed watching my lead dogs, Bob the Husky and Zeus the Doberman, taking my directions to weave through the trees.

Is it a vocal direction? Or more by feel, like the reins of a horse? (I feel like an idiot even asking--as if, for some reason, everyone in the world knows how to "command" a team of dogs through the woods. I'm going to pacify myself with the notion that it's actually quite rare to know how to do such things. And I'm just going to unilaterally declare that Jeff's trail-cursing at Cricket-the-puffball-goose-poop-eater doesn't count.)

This was my test run. Rufus had only run attached to me once (Chloe K 5K). Everyone did a great job, especially with all of the people on the Lakefront Trail.

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, we're taking it easy for now. The heat in the middle of the day is hard, especially on my Newfoundland and Malamute. I'm looking forward to working up to a Navy Pier (11 miles) route as it gets cooler.

Sounds like a fun goal. I took our puffball, Cricket, out for a hike at the park last night. She was sucking wind when we got finished.

  15. FIT
    good 3 mi

Took Rufus for the first time. He was great. The flood waters made for a pleasant trip downstream. Coming home took some effort!

  16. VELO
    good 12.78 mi

I visited Carpenter Creek Cellars for opening day.
