My first speed session of the year (!). The #TWB plan from Caleb called for a progressive run of 8 miles, starting with a pace that felt easy. I decided to start at a 10-minute pace and increase by 30 seconds every two miles:

1: 10:00
2: 9:59
3: 9:28
4: 9:28
5: 8:59
6: 8:58
7: 8:27
8: 8:26

While the last (and fastest) two miles were the toughest, the first two miles at the 10-minute pace felt the worst. I felt every step. I was surprisingly feeling the best at the 9-minute pace.

It felt GOOD to get my legs moving at a faster pace again, but I definitely have lots of work to do.

I picked a hilly out and back 2-mile stretch in the Arboretum, and those hills kicked my ass in the later miles.
