good John Dick 50K (or Birthday Party in the Woods) 31 mi

I have the best friends in the entire world. So much love to Kristin K., Rochelle, Tracey G. , Matt J., Marty and Krista V. for crawling out of bed in the 4s and running a 50K with me on my birthday. This was, without a doubt, the greatest birthday I've ever had. Beautiful day, gorgeous trails, best friends, NEW friends ( Diane V., Brian, Cory C.! EVERYONE I'm forgetting...) and old friends (Hi Brad K., Ben D., John C. and John P.!) You guys are all amazing. Thanks for helping my day be awesome. Didn't think I'd be ready for 31 miles, but I survived (only reaching "terror alert level yellow" hehe) and enjoyed beer, food, friends, family and an impromptu birthday party in the park shelter. My parents and sister surprised me by showing up with cowbells and birthday balloons and love, and Annie and Amy K. did the same. I am so, so lucky to have these people. #lovefest My thirties kicked off with awesome.

    What a way to spend your birthday! I couldn't even tell you just ran 31 miles when you got back to the shelter....you looked fresh as a daisy. :) Congrats on another ultra in the books and awesome seeing you out there.
