Plan was to run for 45 mts, focusing on breathing from tummy..after few minutes found it difficut to run as well focus on breathing..gave up and ran without too much attention to the breathing..was just happy if i breathed!!

Agree with Bala - Don't worry too much about all this. There're enough articles that'll tell you to do this and that to improve your form. If you're able to run comfortably without injury, you should be fine. You can experiment after the event.
