  3. RUN
good Out Tahattawan 11.05 mi 02:12 11:56 pace

Another run that felt really good! 5:1 for the first 8 miles, 3:1 for the last 3. Much better over all pace than I expected. Last of the long runs before the next half!

  4. RUN
good Spec Pond plus extra 5.06 mi 00:58 11:22 pace

First run in weeks that felt really good and fastest pace in nearly three months! Ran mile 1, 5:1 for miles 2 & 3, ran mile 4, 3:1 for mile 5.

  5. RUN
    White tail/Hartwell 3.06 mi 00:39 12:39 pace

    5x5min intervals

  6. RUN
blah Hartwell both ends with more 6.54 mi 01:28 13:25 pace

I'm totally in a bad mental space for the next half in three weeks. That, plus wardrobe issues, made for a very poor training run today. Was supposed to be 8 miles, and I only did 33 mins runn... read more

  7. RUN
    RS track 2.04 mi 00:27 13:21 pace

Mostly walking, just not feeling it today. Like the track, though.

  8. RUN
good Spec Pond and Hartwell end 4.67 mi 00:55 11:52 pace

Holy humidity! .5 mile run/.1 mile walk for first 3 miles. Somewhat shorter runs with somewhat longer walks for the remainder. Goal was to keep it under and overall 12:00/mile pace and was able to ... read more

  9. RUN
    good treadmill 3.81 mi 00:54 14:06 pace

Kids are home, so treadmill it is. Gave me a good excuse to try controlled intervals, though. 1 min walk - 1 min slow run - 1 min fast run - 1 min slow run - 1 min walk. Repeat x10. Plus cool down.

  10. RUN
good White Tail Way 3.16 mi 00:45 14:09 pace

First time pushing the jogging stroller since last fall. That sure takes the workout to a new level! Negligible running intervals.

  11. RUN
good all over 6.2 mi 01:18 12:35 pace

Did 10x4min running intervals, which felt pretty okay, with lots of walking between. Slight twinges in the hip, no pain at all in the knee. Had to take a wide swing around a territorial goose, but ... read more

  12. RUN
good up to RS track and back 6.1 mi 01:23 13:36 pace

Tried out 3 loops on the new RS track. It's nice! Just takes 5 miles to get there and back. Stuck to 2 min running intervals with lots of walking. Fighting knee pain for the first time in my l... read more

  13. RUN
alright Spartan Arrow loop x3 4.04 mi 00:54 13:16 pace

Working out the leftover kinks and tightness. Because I was an idiot and have another half in one month! Yikes! Did 10x2min running intervals.

The 9th Street tunnel in the first mile of the Nike Women Half in DC. Wall to wall runners, plus two amazing drumming groups means super-high energy in there!

  17. RUN
good Nike Women Half Marathon in DC 13.1 mi 02:45 12:35 pace

My first half!!! The start was SUPER crowded and very slow and the last two miles were a bitch because my hips/legs were so exhausted, but it was an amazing race over a breathtaking course. Overall... read more

I have another one in 4 weeks. Which seems insane now that I've done it once. Not enough time in between to forget how painful those last couple of miles were! LOL! The one in June was supposed to be my first, but after I'd registered another friend talked me into trying the lottery for the Nike Half.

    Slow and relaxed.

  19. RUN
good End of Hartwell and back via ... 4.35 mi 00:54 12:26 pace

Beautiful morning. .25-.35 mile running intervals with .1-.2 walking recovery. Just trying to stay loose and slow.

  20. RUN
good Hartwell and Spec Pond together 8.11 mi 01:36 11:48 pace

5 mins walking warm up, then 5:1 pretty much the rest of the time and felt really comfortable with that. Did one 7 min running interval, and shortened intervals on a couple of the long uphills.
