  1. RUN
    good 1.58 mi 00:25 16:07 pace

Took a different route tonight... lots more cars to go around and my music wasn't working, so I was frustrated & headed home a little earlier than I'd planned.

  2. RUN
    great 0.87 mi 00:12:37 14:30 pace

Took my boys out for a morning run in preparation for a Super Hero 5K next month... They run around all the time, but I don't think they had any concept of just how long 3.1 was until today. W... read more

Love! :) When I started running Davey could like sprint but wore out easily, now he can pace himself and go much further :) Super Hero run sounds like fun!

We made it almost the entire way running- I was a little surprised, if we're being honest. It was hot out already! (Tomorrow morning we're going a little earlier, and with water in hand!) Super hero run promises to be LOTS of fun-- we all get to dress up!

  3. RUN
    great 2 mi 00:28 13:58 pace

Ran most of the 1st mile, walked most of the 2nd... I'm good with that for now!

  4. RUN
    great 1 mi 00:12:53 12:52 pace

Quick/short run to get back into the habit... I knew I'd missed it over the past couple of months, but didn't realize quite how much until I was out tonight. I was surprised & pleased... read more

  5. FIT
    good

Took a break (from the site, mostly) for a few weeks... but I'm back again! Did about a mile on the elliptical followed by an hour of Zumba at the new (to me) gym.

  6. walk
    good 2 mi

More walking w/ friends post-run, because we like the socialization!

  7. RUN
    alright 3 mi 00:40 13:20 pace

Taking a guess at the time on this run - it's accurate within just a few mins though! Took more walking breaks than I wanted to, but they were shorter than I've been taking, so I still en... read more

  8. walk
    great 1.83 mi

Some friends met me at the park post-run and we walked for a bit!

  9. RUN
    great 2.32 mi 00:33 14:20 pace

Feeling like I'm getting used to this daytime run-thing. Had a bottle of water while I took the kids to school (maybe an hour before running) and it seemed to make a huge difference. I was act... read more

  10. RUN
    alright 1.95 mi 00:29 14:37 pace

I'm so used to running at night... I'm aware of cars because of the headlights, I don't have the sun beating down on me, I don't have to watch out for toddlers jumping out in fr... read more

It is a bit of a difference. Try to throw in a few morning runs in your training since most races are in the morning. Our bodies are quite different from morning to night. I like to run at night too in the summer and come 8:30 my body had three meals, healthy snacks, and has been mobile for hours. When I run in the morning my body is usually awake for only one hour. :-) Good luck on your training!

I'm the same way, Keira. I normally run before 6am, so race days are late runs for me (and the 7pm one I did last year was a real bear!) I like getting my workout done before I completely wake up and realize what's going on!

I knew it would be different, but didn't realize it would be quite THAT different! I'm just glad that I realized it now, a few weeks out so I have time to get used to it!!

You realize, of course, that entering races is the next step on a slippery slope :) Once started you'll never want to stop!

Jeremy... you're probably going to have to pull me, atleast for a little bit. I'm working hard now to make sure it isn't TOO much though! ;)

Leisurely-ish walk with some friends this morning. Worth adding, since it was as long as it was!

  13. RUN
    alright 3.15 mi 00:44 14:06 pace

Trying to cut myself some slack on this one because I'm not feeling 100% and I still managed to get in that 5K at a semi-decent pace, considering that I was mostly walking. Roughly 1 month unt... read more

  14. walk

A not-so-fast walk with a friend. Out for a run tonight if my evening meeting doesn't go too late...

    • Chris U.

Heck, even if it goes late get a good run in tonight. I will be watching for it. ;-)

Turned out to be a good thing that I couldn't go-- about 10 minutes after I would have left, my 4 yr old somehow managed to knock the tv over onto his toe! After a trip to the ER, a few stitches & a chocolate milkshake everything is fine, but I'm glad that I wasn't out for a run when that happened! (And the tv has been put in a different location so that it doesn't happen again!)

  19. RUN
    good 1 mi 00:13:58 13:58 pace

A short run/walk just to clear my head. A "real" run is on the agenda for tomorrow, but the past few days have been especially stressful and I needed a few minutes alone- goal achieved.

Walking is so underrated as you have shown here, "me" time is so important too. Hope things improve for you.

I hope that next week you will have less stress. It may not always be a run. Fegrig is right that walking is often underrated. Good luck!
