I went for a long bike ride this morning and felt great. The weather was perfect for a bike ride. I biked the first 5 miles in exactly 25 minutes, for a perfect 12 mph avg pace. I was riding pretty fast at times on the Cady Way trail--Garmin says max speed was 17 mph; I don't think I held that for long, but did hold 13-15 for a while. Biking that fast took a lot out of me and my legs, so I slowed down considerably for the ride back. I'm sure I could average 12-13 for the entire distance with a little more practice.

I wish I was brave enough to go up against real traffic so I could get to a nice trail like Cady Way. They all feel so far away, so I just have to keep loop loop looping around my neighborhood.

I was apprehensive at first, but I got used to it. I think it helped that Jason was with me at first, but now I can go at it alone. As long as you can find streets with a bike lane or a sidewalk, its not too bad. Maybe try it for a short distance just to get a feel for it and slowly increase it.
I want to ride exclusively on a trail to see what I can really do. Even though I was biking pretty fast at times, my average pace is probably slower than it should be because of having to slow down at stop lig
