How to taper for a 5 mile race

Run six miles, obviously. Kept it in recovery range, at least. Good run, even with the heat. I really need to get better about running early in the morning. At least there was a decent breeze and lots of shade along the way.
Just to be clear, my mileage will be going shorter through the week. I'm not completely insane, and I do want to run well on Saturday.
So, my zero is zapped. Let's make this a good week, my friends.
