great Kennesaw Mountain Run 12 mi

I felt like my old self again on this run. Some kind of Confederate rah-rah day was going on so the main parking lot was totally full at 7:15AM. Decided to park @ Burnt Hickory and do the usual loop in reverse instead of adding extra mileage by parking in overflow.

So Burnt Hickory->Pigeon Hill->Little KeMo->Big KeMo->Visitor's Center and back. I kind of liked doing the loop this way instead of the other. It was nice to not have to climb the mountain right at the beginning...although the short distance up Pigeon Hill is no joke either. Took about 1:50 for the 6 mile loop which is about 5 minutes longer than my pre-preg time. Not bad. This felt easier because of the amount of hiking on the loop. Was able to maintain intensity without getting too out of breath. My climbing legs are still there.

Still had energy and time before The Mister headed to work after doing the loop. Decided to throw in a GUTS loop starting from Pigeon Hill. Another 6 miles but a lot more running this time.

Felt awesome for the entire run and no issues the next day either. I almost forgot that I used to run like this almost every weekend. This would have been an "easy" long run SMH.
