I am such a dawdler in the morning! I got started a little too late this AM to get in my full 4 miler. Today's assignment was 4 miles of intervals - 2 minutes fast (80% effort) and 2 minutes slow... read more

I do like the smaller group runs. Fun to meet more women in my area. I wish I could be more involved in a leadership capacity. I would LOVE to start a weekly group trail run. My husband's schedule is just too unpredictable for that. :(

Good effort. It's good that you realize the importance of recovery. I have trouble with that sometimes, too. And if you are only a year into doing ultras, I think your body is probably still getting tougher and adjusting to the higher mileage. I'm surprised you're heavier than a year ago.

Great job, lady! I think you should hold your head up and be proud! No one should ever finish a marathon and feel even a shred of disappointment! You work hard and with a proper taper, a sub 4:30 marathon is yours for the taking!

Great Performance:
You have been putting up some huge mileage numbers so I am incredibly proud of your efforts. Don't be hard on yourself. This isn't really your thing anymore so it's no more than a training experience, right? :-) I'm sure you'll crack 4:30 in the future.

@Rose - I've heard about those lights too. Although I don't know how they will work in the hot humid summer when I need to wipe my brow often LOL!
@Monica - We runners have to be really careful and not do stupid stuff like that. It is easy to cruise along listening to your music and feel like you are the only one in the world out there.16 days ago • Like
