good Buteo Ridge Hill Attack 5 mi 00:44 08:50 pace

Good thing it's taper time, because this week it will be challenging to get quality running time in. Couldn't run yesterday, and I squeezed this in after core work before heading into the office (I started the day with early morning meetings). Started this workout by running up Buteo Ridge to stay mentally ready for the hill start of Uwharrie.

Taper madness! Great five and good work simulating the race start.

Nice job Kent! Unless your in the front, you will be forced to walk that hill or shuffle. The hill at 15 is another story...its a beast!

Good to know... and since I won't be in the front, guess I'll be forced to shuffle. Looking forward to experiencing Uwharrie for the first time.

The 1st hill at Uhwarrie is double track for at least the 1st half of the climb, though there is a big washout down the middle, so Jamie's right -- there's not much running there. The 2nd part of the climb is so rocky it's hard running as well. Dennis mountain at 15-16 comes right after all the stream crossings, so if the water is cold, your feet will be numb. ;-)

Thanks, everybody! I appreciate all the support, as always, especially since my workload and kid sports schedule is off the hook this week, and I'm not doing a good job of reciprocating.
@Rgbytrtl: I *wish* was hardcore. Maybe one day when I don't have kids I can be hardcore. For now, I'll settle for challenge-addicted...
