So I've been a little under the weather right. But today was better than yesterday & I've had this speed workout hanging over my head. The first actually of the new year & in training for my upcoming 5K. It was supposed to be Tues but I pushed it off until today. Yesterday I didn't even think I'd run today. But my kiddos are sick too and went to bed early and I somehow convinced myself to just go give it a try. Just maybe 4X400s and I'd call it good. Goal pace 7:00 min/mile. I can't even frickin' believe what I did. Here it is:
Warm Up: 1 Mile @ 10min/mile
1X400 @ 6:58 min/mile
2X400 @ 6:53 min/mile
1X400 @ 6:49 min/mile
1X400 @ 6:40 min/mile
Cool Down 1.25 miles @ 10:00 min/mile
I walked 200meters in between each 1/4. And here's what I can't get over. I wasn't maxed out. I ran that extra one because I just felt like I had so much left on #4 that I didn't want to end that way. So I jacked up the pace, but I was on the TM and the thing about the TM is I'm always afraid I'm gonna wind up flying off the back of the thing on speed work OR I won't be able to keep up with the belt and I'll step off the end and smack my face on it. So even though this is the fastest speed work I do believe I've run since...oh...college? I've got more. So energized right now!!!

Holy crap! Look at that speed! Glad I'm not running that 5K!
