Tunnel on Silver Comet messed with GPS, so pace was not quite as fast as indicated. Good run, otherwise. Over-ran Mile 2; otherwise was close to target pace throughout. Managed to survive heat, hum... read more

RUN
good 3-Miler, Coker Park 3.01 mi 00:27 08:55 pace
This morning's run, which felt much, much better than my last two outings. Just a 3-miler, but a good run and not too far off from the target pace.

blah Long Run, Coker Park Area, Pe... 10.01 mi 01:33 09:15 pace
This week's long, pushed back a day. Did quite well with sticking close to the target pace, but struggled, often feeling like I was running through a tub of Vasoline. Not sure what's been... read more

Good run, slightly ahead of the target training pace.

RUN
alright Veterans Park, Hoover, AL 3.01 mi 00:27 08:55 pace
Ugh. I am definitely not an afternoon trail runner. Insane humidity, stones in my shoes, and a snake sighting (Yep, I squealed audibly). Looking forward to a morning run on the regular route tomorr... read more

alright Speedwork on the Silver Comet... 4.6 mi 00:44 09:29 pace
Speedwork: 800m warmup, 1200m at 8:10 pace, 800m at 7:46 pace, 400m at 7:23 pace, and 200m at 7:02 pace. A 5-minute recovery jog, and then all the intervals in reverse. Legs felt a little heavy, so... read more

good Run with Ernest, Coker Park 3.01 mi 00:33 10:49 pace
Simple, slow run with the dog. Can't worry too much about pacing when you run with a 12-year-old miniature dachshund. Felt good—first run since racing on Sunday.

RUN
good Minneapolis Half-Marathon 13.25 mi 01:44 07:52 pace
Minneapolis Half-Marathon. If the time is close to my official chip time, this will be a small PR (about 35 seconds), which feels great on about 6 weeks of training. My longest run in about 6 month... read more

great 5-Mile Easy, Pelham, AL 5.17 mi 00:47 09:05 pace
Did better at staying near the target training pace, but only after burning through the first two miles. Otherwise, a great run!

RUN
Easy 3-miler, Pelham, AL 3.01 mi 00:27 08:51 pace
This morning's "easy" 3-miler. Spent significant energy focusing on form, which meant I gave pacing less attention. Ended up about 20 seconds ahead of the target pace, as a result. E... read more

This week's "long" run. Sort of a mixed bag on this one. Weather was AMAZING, perfect! Felt good for 6, then had a roller coaster to the end. Felt good at times; felt lousy at times.... read more

good "Easy" Training Run, Pelham, AL 6.01 mi 00:54 08:58 pace
Six miles at an "easy" pace. Was closer to the target pace (9:12) more of the time than the average suggests. A couple miles got away from me and skewed the average. Guess the heat, ugh!,... read more

Jen, we didn't run the best part of it for Dixie, in my opinion. The start of the trail in Smyrna is way cool and there are always a bunch of other runners and cyclists on it. Really like running there.
