injured Marathon Fail 15.5 mi 03:00 11:36 pace

I've been running but not posting much. My Marathon training went well with no sign of injury. The only blip was not having the best taper and missing my last longish run a week ago (11 miles) due to getting stuck in Canada.
After all the snow, ice, etc we made it to Myrtle yesterday, only to run 8.5 miles today where out of nowhere my R calf said hello. I was in utter disbelief that this was happening again and it only got worse. I met my Husband at 12 on the Marathon course and he agreed, this was not good. I turned around and limped all the way to the 1/2 finish (15.5 miles on my watch). Plus it was raining, cold and windy at the start. Just an all around disappointing weekend....our Valentines Day plans got cancelled and then this. Back to Dr. D I go. :( I did not run a 17 miler in the pouring down rain and train in frigid temperatures for this to happen. :( :(
