Thanks Lauren. I always run with music so I thought I would hate it...It was awesome.

it keeps you more in tune with your body...the sound of the footfalls, your breathing, the wind blowing. i haven't run with music in months!

Thanks Nanette and Chris...It was really a calming run. I'm a working mom, so a few minutes of silent running might do me some good!

Glad you enjoyed the run sans-tunes! I rarely use my ipod any more. Sounds like a soothing one, much deserved....ahhhhh, nice!

Sometimes running without music helps me clear me clear my head, I'm able to absorb the road and environment around me -

Great miles, Karen! I breathe very loudly, like an ape having a heart attack, so I crank the tunes and let others hear it. (but I don't have to :D)

I used to run with music during every run, now I just leave the Ipod at home. Something about hearing your breathing and nature that makes me relax more during the run! Enjoy it!!

I use music as a background noise...if I start to feel like quitting I tune into the music....

I struggle running without music. I like the sound of nature but not my annoying bitching.

Nice job Karen. I have been running without music for the majority of my runs the past 2 months and I love it. Occasionally though I pump up the jams.
