good Grant's Trail 10 10.21 mi 01:30 08:47 pace

After yet another week of no running thanks to a painful knee, I believe it's getting better. My doctor's read of my MRI is that the tears on my miniscus are degenerative. I suppose over time they will get worse, but for now I found the trick to managing it, Aleve (naproxen). I had been using Advil (albeit very sparingly), but once I switched to Aleve it was amazing. I felt good and ran 10 miles after a week off. I was actually able to return to my normal gate and stride.

This was my first time on Grant's trail in quite a long time. The morning was sunny, almost hot, and there were quite a few people out on the trail. One strange thing was on my return leg, I had this guy run about 3 feet behind me like he was drafting. I had my headphones on, but sensed he was there and said "Hi". He didn't say anything. I decided to keep running at my pace. He stayed on my heels for about a mile and a half. I decided to pick up the pace just a bit. That did the trick as I looked back after a bit and noticed he had started walking. I just kept going. Really kind of creepy, don't you think?
After my run, I hopped on the bike and went back up the trail 4 miles(8 round-trip) to meet up with my son's Scout troop. Overall, a good day with a functioning knee. Woohoo!

Creepy indeed..maybe he liked the view? Glad you were able to get in such an impressive run after a week off. Fingers crossed regarding your knee.

Nice run! I agree...that was creepy. It would be one thing if he had responded to your "hi" and said something like "just looking for a pacer to keep me moving". But a no response is weird. Glad you turned on the jets and lost him. If that ever happened to me, I would freak.
