great MIT "Beat the Rain" 6 miler 6.16 mi 01:04 10:26 pace

First, I would like to thank Mother Nature for holding off the rain that was supposed to be coming down early this morning. As we finished up our run and were heading up the big hill to the school, it just started to drizzle.

Only had 4 on my schedule today, but the rest of the group had 6. I didn't want to turn back early alone with the recent sightings of the creepy guy on the OT, so I decided to hang with the group. Had a great run chatting with Mykkia, so the time flew by! Everything felt really good during this run, including my foot! HR Avg: 135

Splits:

1 10:27.7 HR 119 (zone 1)
2 10:30.0 HR 133 (zone 2)
3 10:30.5 HR 138
4 10:30.8 HR 136
5 10:25.1 HR 140
6 10:24.4 HR 143 (Stayed in zone 2 up the big, long hill!)

Thanks guys!! @Amanda - It has taken almost a year of HR training to get to this point and there are still days (when I think I need rest), where it doesn't cooperate.

I'm so glad you stayed with the group instead of risking Creepy Guy coming out. I don't go out there at all any more. Superior job on your 6! And that's great news that you were able to run 6 miles and your foot not hurt!

Thanks guys! @Teri G - My uncle told me to carry a hand gun. LOL! I'll stick with my pepper spray and large groups of ppl.

So glad to hear you carry something for your safety. Always know the direction of the wind when you run with pepper spray. Also, this may sound odd, but a 2" safety pin is a great weapon. I keep one pinned at the inside base of my running shirt (not pants).
With a one handed unpin & quick 2 finger pull to widen it, it can poke an eye or scratch a mean one on a persons face, neck or eye. It can be used on a dogs eye to in case of an attack.
