good 3 blah miles 3 mi 00:35 11:33 pace
The run was fine, nothing special. I am trying to decide if I can safely increase my mileage a bit. My appt with the specialist isn't until the beginning of March. Ughhhh....

I am never able to get up early and run, but today was different somehow. And it felt good. Especially when I got home from work and didn't have anything hanging over my head. Oh, and my f... read more

good quick mini-workout 00:30
I did 4 sets of 50 jumping jacks and 50 kettlebell swings with 20lb weight. Doesn't sound all that bad but 200 swings will catch up to you!

RUN
good baby steps on the treadmill 3 mi 00:36 11:52 pace
It was a good run, cranked my running mix and watched the Pats (okay that part isn't looking so good right now...). Still hard to hold back. I want to run that Half next month. :(
-
Nice Job:
Great job, Karla! I used to do the same thing when the Suns were in the NBA playoffs ... I would stay on the treadmill for hours depending on how they were playing.

Unfortunately the Pats didn't win. So hopefully. I can still cash in

RUN
alright my first run since 11/14/10 2 mi 00:25 12:17 pace
My foot felt fine. I am going to see a specialist but can't get an appt until March. Until then, low mileage at a slow pace.

Feel Better:
Glad to see you back on here, Karla! Good job today!

Thank you both. The run felt good but having to hold back was a bit frustrating. I was really looking forward to my third Half next month, but I suppose this is a good exercise in patience, not one of my strongest points. So, I will have to set some new goals and get to work! Thanks for the support!

great workout with trainer Joe 01:00
Great workout! Lots of ab work, then kettlebells, pull-ups, etc etc. Great feeling to have a tough workout. Looking forward to a long run tomorrow, my first since the Half last week.

Nice workout Karla Joe knows some tough workouts way to go!

Joe definitely knows how to torture me! But it is such a great feeling to lift heavy weights, or do some pull-ups or any of the many other things I couldn't do 10 months ago. Today I did 24 squats followed immediately by 24 jump squats (this was the 3rd set mind you, the first was 10, 2nd was 16). It sucked but rocked at the same time. Joe keeps me challenged. It's fantastic!

3 days off after the Half. Feeling guilty. Back at it tomorrow. How many days do you normally take off (if any) after a race?
-
I feel better if I can get running after one day off. Usually just a short run to stretch the legs.

HM? Congrats! Thanks for the add. Keep up the great work! Cool of you to share about the days off, but don't feel guilty. Sometimes you gotta rest to bounce back even stronger!

After my HM, I ran my regular schedule the next week. Then, the following week, took a week off. I would go with what your body is telling, but I wish I took a week off after my HM first.

Because of injuries appearing when i cam back to early the first time I ran a HM, I forced myself to take 10 days off after my last half. It was the best I could do for myself. I came back stronger and faster.
