Easy, relaxing run. Of course it took forever to get out the door with my son George throwing temper tantrums left and right- all I kept thinking was, must get to the gym, will get a break from th... read more

RUN
alright 2 warmup, 1.5 @ 1% incline 3.5 mi 00:35 10:00 pace
Hill training hurts my back! Laying on a heating pad and I'm having a hard time picking up my son. What the heck? I only ran for 1.5 at 1%!! Seriously annoying.

are you checking your form? do you do any core work?

I hope your back feels better. I don't think a 1% incline should hurt you like that. I always run at a 1% on the treadmill.

Yeah situps, probably about 150 or so when I stretch out. I've always had a sensitive back and had problems...I wonder if I should see a chiropractor? I could probably stand to do more ab work too. It just seems odd that it hurts so bad after such a short time.

It's a St. Patty's race in Lincoln Park. My nursing school friends had never run a race and wanted to so we were all supposed to run it together but they didn't end up feeling they were ready. But I guess it works out fine anyway.
Also Alisha check out "Run for the Cheetah" in Lincoln Park in April, it's a 5k but they have a 50 yard kids dash and lots of kids activities:) I signed up George (20 mths), should be a hoot!almost 2 years ago • Like

RUN
alright No workout today
Does anyone else's back hurt after a run on an incline? I swear my lower back feels pinched and sore every single time I run on an incline. Is it because of my weak stomach muscles?
-
I would weak stomach muscles may definitely be a culprit. How much of an incline are you running? Maybe your form is changing with the incline. Keep an eye on your posture.

yes, you want to still keep pretty straight with more of a full body lean...does that make sense? you might be bending too much at the waist.

I'm Always too afraid to do the incline, worried I won't be able to make it too long, I'll have to give it a try.
